Epiphyllum Oxypetalum
Epiphyllum Oxypetalum
The Epiphyllum Oxypetalum or Queen of the Night is from the cactus family and is similar in look to a flat leaf Rhipsalis . It grows long flat foliage that also acts as a stem and will branch continuously growing larger and trailing downwards. It can also be staked to grow upwards on totems or poles. It flowers when mature, which can take some time, with a beautiful white fragrant flower that blooms for one night, hence the name. It likes a morning sun or bright indirect light position and not to dry out completely. Although it is part of the Cactus family, it does not like to be dry or be in full harsh sun and leaves will appear yellowish if the position is too bright.
